Layout Design (Look and Feel)
- Default Layout (Included): You may select one of the 4 default layouts included in the shopping cart, to which we will perform minor modifications, such as adding a logo, or changing colors.
- Pre-Designed Layout (Optional): You may select from our extensive gallery of professionally designed layouts, to which we will perform minor modifications, such as adding a logo, or changing colors.
- Custom Design (Optional): We will create (from scratch) a layout design that is customized to suit your organization. You will supply us with examples of design elements such as logos, corporate colors or other brochure layouts that you want to incorporate into your site. This helps give our designers some direction as far as the look and feel of the site – e.g.: headers, borders, and navigation buttons. From this point we will create 3 initial layout screenshots. You can provide your feedback to revise/refine your layouts through 1 major revision and 3 minor adjustments to finalize the design.
The look of the overall layout and navigation will remain consistent throughout the site to make it easier for visitors to navigate through the site.
Web Development Software
The first section of your site will be the informational pages. Here is where you will place your information such as "About us", "Contact Us", "FAQ" and more. This will be very easy for you to update easily from any computer connected to the Internet using our Content Management System.
Content Management System (CMS): You will be able to easily edit, add and delete the information pages on your web site such as Contact Us, About Us, etc. You have complete control of images and text color, size, etc. on these pages. Should you require a change at any hour of the day or night, you will be able to do it quickly and easy using the Page Content Editor that we have developed. You do not need any knowledge of any programming language. We provide the training for this - if you can use the basic functions in Microsoft Word - training will take about 5 minutes.
The Shopping Cart
Your Shopping Cart consists of all the latest and greatest features of any shopping cart on the market today and actually will have features unique to Jatech's ECom Pro Shopping Cart. Following is a list of most of the ECom Pro Shopping Cart features:
- Shopping Cart Display: Your visitor's shopping cart contents will be prominently displayed throughout their entire browsing experience. There will be prominent buttons displayed to allow them to update the cart contents, or to check out. Order-Notification emails will be sent to you and to the customer.
- Drag-and-drop Shopping Cart: This is an exciting new feature recently developed only by Jatech. In the online shopping experience, your customers will be able to drag any image of the product you want into the shopping cart or remove it from the cart to the trash can.
- Best Sellers: Best selling products will automatically be featured on the home page.
- User reviews: Customers can write reviews on products they have purchased. These reviews have to be viewed and approved by the site administrator before they can be viewed by the public.
- Thumbnail Image w/ Short Description Product Browsing: Viewers will navigate by choosing a category and/or sub-category of products to view. They will then see a list of thumbnail images with corresponding short descriptions.
- Various Browsing Options: Browse by product category, browse specials, browse a list of new items, best sellers.
- Pop-Up Images to enlarge Thumbnail Images: Visitors will be able to click on thumbnail images to view a larger image and for more information.
- Advanced Product Search Options: Your visitors can type in keywords into a search box on your site to quickly search for an item. A list will come up items related to the search term. There are advanced search criteria available designed to suit your needs.
- Users Account Login: Users will be able to register with your site in order to subscribe/unsubscribe themselves to your newsletter, view the status of orders (i.e.: Pending/Shipped), change personal information and account details, view order history etc. This will also be used for Multi level Pricing and information that is designed for the client logging in.
- Browse Newest Selections: We can add a section to the home page that lists the newest items added to your product database. This section is automatically updated when you add new items.
- Non Registration Ordering: Customers will be able to browse your site and add products to their shopping cart without having to create an account or register. When the customer goes to checkout the information entered there is used to create their account. The benefit of this is that people do not like to give information until they decide they want to buy.
- One Page Checkout: When the customer decides to purchase. They will go to the checkout page where they enter their Contact, Credit Card, and Shipping Information on one page. They will not have to go through several pages to checkout - simplifies the process.
- Suggestive selling of Related Items: (Companion Products) When a visitor is viewing an item in detail, that page will also display a list of related items (that you can specify) for cross-selling purposes. Links to Affiliate websites are also possible.
- Quantity Discounts: You will be able to specify the various quantity levels and their corresponding unit prices for each pricing level. i.e.: 1-19 units: $20.00/unit; 20-39 units: $18.00/unit etc.
- Website Promotional Features Included: Our advanced e-commerce option also provides you with relevant promotional features, helping you to ensure a successful web site.
These features include:

Customizable Specials and Promotion Items: You can discount prices by a certain percentage (%) or enter in the discounted price. Visitors to your site will then see the old price with a strikethrough, beside the new discounted price (i.e.:
$30.00$26.00). In the administration area of your site, you can also specify a date when the special expires, which will then return to displaying the original price automatically. There is also a section where the customer can view current Specials on the Home page. - Tell A Friend: Get your customers to promote your site by sending their friends an email invitation to click the link in the email to visit your site.
- Track Where Customer Heard About Web Site: In the administration section of the web site you will be able to track how the customer found your site. This is important for many reasons, including marketing.
- Wish List: A customer can select products from your site and add them to their Wish List. Then they tell their family and friends to go to your site and type in their email address and the items they want will be displayed. When their friend or family member purchases an item it will be deleted from the customer's wish list.

Informational Quiz - Make Your Website Fun!
Your customer will take a quiz based on the questions you supply, challenging their friends to better their score, expanding your potential customer base. They will first enter their e-mail address and then begin. After taking the quiz the customer will receive an e-mail stating which questions were correct, if incorrect there will be a brief description for the correct answer. This function will increase traffic to your site and allow you to compile all e-mail addresses that are entered into this section.
Promotional Features
- Specials: You can discount prices by a certain % or enter in the discounted price. Visitors to your site will then see the old price with a strikethrough, beside the new discounted price (i.e.: $30.00; $26.00). In the administration area of your site, you can also specify a date when the special expires, which will then automatically return to displaying the original price of the item at that time.
- Subscription Plans: Create the subscription plans you require (such as how many products they may have at a time for a fee.)
- Randomly Serialized Gift Certificates: You may offer gift certificates in any dollar increment you choose. When a customer buys a gift certificate, they specify the email address of the friend they are buying for. Upon completion of the order, the gift certificates are sent to the friend's email address.
- Randomly Serialized Coupons: You may issue coupons which can be redeemed by the customer.
- Referral System: This is an advanced system to encourage people to refer people to your site. People sign up in the referral system and when a friend of theirs visits your site and they type in the email address of the person who referred them, they get a discount specified by you. The back end of the site also keeps track of these transactions and the person who refers people accumulates credit for their efforts. Also can be used with Shoppers Points (see next).
- Shoppers Points: When customers purchase products from your web site they are awarded a predetermined amount of shoppers points per dollar spent or item purchased. These points can be used for cash value, to purchase products or other reward as determined by the site owner. These points can also be used in conjunction with the Referral System (above).

- Order Streamlining: Customer information and address can be generated directly from their customer profile, to allow for quick and easy fulfillment of orders, and ease administration time requirements.
- Localization and Reporting Tools: Languages, order status, products viewed, average visit times, top 10 frequent visitors, number of customer visits, etc.
- Product Tracking: Scan in a product and unique serial number to allow tracking of each item. This gives indication of where each item has been, for how long, and where is it to go next.
- Track how customers heard about your website: Add a customizable drop-down field to the customer sign up form, to track where each customer heard about your site. This valuable marketing information can be maintained in the admin section of your site.

Credit Card Processing: If you are going to accept credit card payments on your web site, you will need a Payment Gateway. Mot Payment Gateways accept Visa, MasterCard and some also accept Amex & Discover. If you are doing business in only Canada or the United States then you will need an account in the currency of that country. If you are doing business in both Canada and the US then you will need an account for both currencies. Jatech will be happy to answer any questions about Payment Gateways
Certificate of Authenticity: You will need a Certificate of Authenticity to create a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) on your site so you can securely process credit cards. These range in price form $20US and up. Jatech will also be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Note: Text and Image Content: All text and image content is to be supplied in digital format (emailed or supplied on CD)
Any design/programming work not specified in the approved Proposal, is not included in this contract and will be quoted separately.
The Process: Upon the receipt of the signed contract, the following process will take place:
- If the client has ordered a custom design, the client should provides us with 3 or 4 sites that they like - what they like about them and also what they don't like about them so we have some guidance to create their custom look and feel (graphic design).
- If the client has decided to use a Pre-Designed Layout, the client must provide Jatech with the number of the design they have selected and also the changes they would like such as the color, their logo and other changes they may want.
- Jatech will send the client a scope document. This document has all the features of the site listed and has a space so the client may provide us with comments on what they want.
- Jatech will assign a Project Manager to work with the client to ensure that the site is completed on time and meets the specifications of the scope document.
- The Project Manager will contact the client as different portions of the site are completed and will provide the client with a link to where they can view the progress of the site development.
- If appropriate the client will provide Jatech with their user username and password for their shipping provider and payment gateway.
- If the site is accepting credit cards online then the client will need to apply for an account with a Payment Gateway. There are many Payment Gateway providers and Jatech will be happy to assist you with selecting the best one for you. Also, you will need a Certificate of Authenticity which Jatech will be happy to assist you with.
- When Jatech has completed the site according to the Scope Document, the Client will be allowed 4 hours of modifications at no charge. Errors and omissions are not included in the 4 hours.
