For example, if a teenager were to wear unique skater shoes, a bright red t-shirt with interesting graphics on it and backwards basketball cap and is dressed like no one else– the message he is conveying is that he is a cool, fun, and unique. Similarly, if you were looking at a web design and it had similar features – a variety of shades of red colors throughout the web design and interesting graphics and images with a unique layout – that particular website design would leave a teenager with the impression that it is cool, fun, unique, and worth a closer look.

Now lets talk about business professionals, they dress very shape, wear stylish professional attire and are most of the time clean cut. The way professionals dress is highly applicable scenario for comparison against the way a web designer would use a web design to ‘dress’ a professional website. A business web design usually puts stylish and/ or sophisticated graphics that are enticing and thought provoking; while keeping the use of graphics minimal in an effort to not cloud the actual content. A business web design will usually be more pron to using light colors and appear inviting to web visitors. When the designer is finishing ‘clothing’ the bare website with a professional business web design – it should have a sharp and professional appearance. This will ensure that your web design has a positive impression on your visitors, hopefully leaving them with your brand or image stuck in their brands after leaving your web design. As you can see your web design is paramount when it comes to making impressions and is vital in the success of your online business – which is why your web design should be given top priority.

The underlying message here, is that it is important to know your audience so that you can understand them and leave a strong impression with your web design. If you do not do your research, and a certain demographic of users are visiting your site that you did not account for – they may not enjoy the impression they get from the web design and venture elsewhere.
